FRANKLIN, Indiana. (July 26, 2005)— Gus Kontonickas, president of NSK Precision America Inc., joined Indiana Governor, Mitch Daniels and other local government officials, to announce the relocation of NSK Precision America’s corporate headquarters to Franklin, Indiana.
Reinforcing NSK Precision America’s commitment to complete customer satisfaction and the continuous expansion of domestic-made products, the new headquarters will unify all business functions. The Franklin headquarters will now house marketing, sales, customer service and engineering, as well as the existing manufacturing operations. This bold move puts NSK Precision America’s management team in one facility, creating better communication and more collaborative corporate initiatives. The new headquarters facility will encompass 11,000 sq. ft. of office space, conference rooms, and teaching/demo facilities.
As a leading manufacturer of precision motion control products, this move by NSK Precision America furthers Franklin’s economic development by creating a number of new corporate and manufacturing jobs. The manufacturing plant, which is ISO9002 certified and ISO14000 compliant, produces standard and custom ball screws, robot modules and linear guides. Currently, the plant operation employs 100 people, but that number is expected to grow significantly as NSK expands its business and existing facilities.
“The commitment and leadership by the city of Franklin, the county’s commitment for growth, and the state’s aggressive stance toward attracting corporate headquarters were all major contributing factors that led us to select Franklin as the site for our corporate headquarters,” said Gus Kontonickas, president of NSK Precision America, Inc.
NSK Precision America will benefit from a number incentives put forth by the city and the state for the relocation of its headquarters. The city of Franklin is providing NSK with local tax abatements and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) is also providing an incentive package. The IEDC incentives include:
· Approximately $300,000 in training grants from the Skills Enhancement Fund (SEF) to train Indiana resident employees
Up to $50,000 in training grants for technology professionals through the Technology Enhancement Certifications for Hoosiers (TECH) fund
Up to $100,000 in off-site infrastructure improvements needed to serve the site through the Industrial Development Grant Fund
“I am pleased that NSK Precision America has decided on Franklin for its corporate headquarters,” said Franklin Mayor, Brenda Jones-Matthews. “This is a global company that can bring worldwide attention to the capable, affordable, and efficient workforce available to manufacturing and corporate headquarters.”
