Designed to improve performance in the critical areas of speed, accuracy and torque, the new PS Series is virtually redefining productivity in a wide range of applications in everything from the semiconductor industry to biomedical research. To begin with, the PS Series features permanent magnet motors combined with an outer rotor design. They deliver resolution over 2.6 million counts per revolution, a maximum speed of 10-1 sec which translates to 600 rpm, accuracy of 30 arc-seconds and a repeatability factor of +2 arc-seconds. Torque output is 3 times higher than the current equivalent-sized models, yet the PS Series motors are much more compact with smaller drivers 40% smaller than conventional designs. Equally impressive is the reduced settling time achieved by the PS Series. A 50% reduction in positioning time is achieved when comparing same size motors performing a 180 degree positioning move.
