DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing Engineering

SUPERVISOR: Plant Manager                  SHIFT:  First

SALARY GRADE: 31                                  FLSA STATUS: Exempt
   
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the Manufacturing Engineering Department in the design and development of profitable and manufacturable Steering componenets and products.
• Support initiatives and actions related to new product launch efforts conducted   under the APQP team format.
• Responsible for identifying technology requirements for business support and determining how those requirements can be met.
• Support initiatives at winning new and replacement business, for both new and existing customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical Engineering with 8 years of position related experience. Must have a proven record of supervision in excess of 25 subordinates including subordinate supervisors, individuals and teams.

SUPERVISOR:  Manufacturing Engineer Manager SHIFT:   First

SALARY GRADE:  29

FLSA STATUS: Exempt
  
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides engineering support by troubleshooting problems and affecting timely solutions in order to achieve product quality and on-time delivery schedules. 
• Leads continuous improvement efforts in areas of safety, product quality, line productivity, process capability, line capacity, and others.
• Performs or coordinates completion of cost analysis and justification of planned improvements to evaluate feasibility and determine optimal solution.
• Utilizes traditional problem solving and root cause analysis tools to implement effective and permanent solutions to manufacturing issues including customer complaints, machine downtime, scrap, rework, and production achievement.
• Utilizes production performance metrics to ensure goal achievement and identify improvement opportunities by establishing cause-and-effect relationships.
• Performs Design of Experiments and utilizes Statistical Process Control as required.
• Maintains production documentation including Standard Work Instructions, Standard Work Charts, Process Flow Charts, Process Standards and Procedures, Control Plans, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
• Prepares product and process reports and presentations as required to effectively convey lessons-learned and improvements for plant-wide implementation. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering from a four year college or university with four to six years related experience. Please see job description for any additional responsibilities/qualifications.
